Description: White stoneware. Hand built using soft slab, carved. Surface decoration achieved using underglazes, wax resist, glaze washes and glazes. Fired to cone 6.
Statement: These pieces were inspired by the Aspen trees growing at our cabin near Chama. I tried to capture the beauty of the entire tree, from the unique trunk to the spectacular leaves, some shimmering yellow-gold, some pinkish-red. Surprisingly, they are equally beautiful in the winter, blending in yet standing out in contrast to the snowy landscape.
