Title: Jomon Inspired Ram Pot
Size: 10 x 8″
Description: mid range stoneware, ceramic stains
Statement: I became fascinated with unique, intricate, and often ornate beauty of the Jomon Period Pottery in Japan. Jomon pottery is the oldest in the world(c. 14,500 – c. 300 BC) . It is characterized by rope like patterns from which it draws its name, Jomon, which means cord pattern. My piece was built in the Jomon tradition of coiling. I enjoyed putting a Southwest spin on my Jomon inspired pot.
